Who We Are

Aspire is a community-led response to single homelessness in Redbridge. We work with individuals who are too often overlooked by traditional housing systems including people with no recourse to public funds (NRPF), care leavers, survivors of abuse, and those navigating mental health challenges. Our mission is simple: to ensure that everyone has access to safe, stable, and dignified housing regardless of their circumstances.

What We Do: Our Four-Part Approach

1. Prevent
We identify and support those at risk of losing their homes through early intervention, advocacy, and referrals.
2. Respond
We provide crisis support, including emergency accommodation, essential supplies, and wraparound care.
3. Transition
We help individuals move from temporary arrangements into stable housing, offering tenancy readiness, mental health referrals, and legal support.
4. Thrive
We empower people with life skills, employment support, and community networks so they can rebuild with confidence and independence.

Evening Light

Evening Light is a community‑led project that creates calm, welcoming evening spaces for people affected by homelessness or housing insecurity. It offers light‑touch support, friendly conversation, and peer connection through “Tea & Chat” sessions, co‑hosted by people with lived experience, helping reduce isolation and share knowledge across local communities.

Why It Matters

London faces a growing housing crisis, with over 170,000 people in temporary accommodation (Shelter, 2024). In Redbridge, the need is particularly urgent: over 2,980 households are in temporary housing 41% placed outside the borough, often isolated from schools, services, and support. Hidden homelessness is also on the rise, with many sofa surfing or cycling through unstable shelters. Aspire provides a local, practical response grounded in dignity, inclusion, and hope.
